Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using CareerPally, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These terms form a binding agreement between you and CareerPally, operated by Duplex Networks Ltd, a company incorporated in Canada.

2. Description of service

CareerPally is an AI-powered career platform that provides resume building, mock interview coaching, cover letter generation, LinkedIn optimisation, career intelligence analysis, and job application tracking. Features are subject to change without notice. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use CareerPally. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

4. Plans and billing

CareerPally offers a free plan with limited monthly usage, a Basic plan, and a Premium plan with expanded limits. Current pricing is displayed on the pricing page and at checkout.

• Free plan quotas reset on the 1st of each calendar month. Unused quota does not carry over.
• Automatic renewal: Paid plans are billed on a recurring monthly basis and renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorise CareerPally to charge your payment method each month until cancellation.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time via your account settings or the billing portal. Access continues until the end of your current paid billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time.
• Payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.
• We reserve the right to adjust plan pricing or limits with at least 14 days notice by email.
• Payment processing: All payments are processed securely by Stripe, Inc. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's terms of service. CareerPally does not store your card details.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use CareerPally for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these terms.
• Attempt to circumvent plan quotas, scrape the platform, or abuse the API.
• Automate job applications at scale or use CareerPally to generate spam.
• Share your account credentials with others.
• Upload content that is fraudulent, defamatory, or infringes third-party rights.
• Use AI-generated outputs to misrepresent qualifications you do not possess.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the platform.

6. AI-generated content

CareerPally uses AI to generate resume bullets, interview feedback, cover letters, and other career content. These outputs are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute professional career, legal, or financial advice. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying all AI-generated content before use. CareerPally makes no guarantee that AI outputs are accurate, complete, or suitable for your specific circumstances.

7. Intellectual property

The CareerPally platform, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by CareerPally and protected by intellectual property law. You retain ownership of the personal data and resume content you provide. You grant CareerPally a limited licence to process that content solely to deliver the service.

8. Limitation of liability

CareerPally is provided on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, express or implied. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to lost job opportunities, decisions made based on AI-generated content, or service interruptions.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid to CareerPally in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD $100 if you are on a free plan.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CareerPally, Duplex Networks Ltd, and any affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service, any content you submit, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time via account settings or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately and without liability if we reasonably believe you have violated these terms, abused the platform, or engaged in fraudulent activity. Upon termination, your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via a notice in the product. Continued use of CareerPally after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada.

If you are accessing CareerPally from another jurisdiction, mandatory local consumer protection laws may apply to you in addition to these terms, to the extent required by law. Nothing in these terms limits rights you may have under applicable local law.
